  • Willkommen! And bienvenue! Welcome!

This week feels weird. No idea why it just does.

    Willkommen! And bienvenue! Welcome!
    Fremder, étranger, stranger
    Glücklich zu sehen
    Je suis enchanté…

I have had that song in my head since Sunday.

    Why?

On Sunday night I was watching the muppet show on Disney +. I was shocked that it had the original series on there and thought I like the muppets so I’ll give it a watch. It was strange seeing the original episodes. One of them had Joel Grey as the Guest and one of the sketches they did was him singing that song with the Muppets.

Since then that song has been in my head and I’ve not been able to get it out. I’ve been asking people on Facebook and someone suggested watching Baby Shark but then decided that would be worse and I had to agree.

I’ve watched different versions of it on YouTube. One from the film with Joel Grey, one with Alan Cummings and I even saw one with Michael C Hall (the guy from Dexter). The weird thing is I haven’t actually seen the film the song is from. I checked sky, Netflix and prime but it’s not on any of them. Anyway jut to try and share the torment here’s a video of the song:

    https://youtu.be/scixjBIHmHY

A quick google search and you’ll find the words to sing along.

The Crafting community on Facebook is amazing.there’s been so much support, love and friendship. You ask a question and someone is there with the answer. If you need help with something, just ask. The things I’ve posted n different groups has been given load of positive comments. Almost too many to read sometimes.

Tangling. When I’ve shared pictures of my tiles the feedback has been great. Here are the tiles I’ve done:

I told you a few weeks ago that there was another tile swap. I did my tile and sent it off. Unfortunately Royal Mail decided there were problems with the address the people sent tiles to and they decided to return them to where they came from.

Because of the issues. Sandra put pictures of the tiles she received on Facebook so people could see if their tile made it through to her. I’m glad to say that the tile I did wasn’t there which meant she hadn’t received it. Since sending it kept thinking how rubbish it was but this gave me an opportunity to redeem myself. I managed to bodge it, do another tile, take a picture and send it to Sandra by email. Not quite a real tile but it meant I could still be involved.

The original tile I sent came back yesterday and this morning the swapped tile arrived which is amazing. So here are some picture of the swapped tiles, the returned one and the redeemer:

Here is the original I sent that came back
    This is Tile Take 2
And this is the one I received.

You can’t see it on the picture but it has a glittery shimmer. That tile is amazing and I love it. It is a million times better than mine.

The other thing is my work was shown on TV again:

Like I said I was glad the original came back because it’s rubbish and the best place for it is the bin. Tile Take 2 isn’t that bad but it does nowhere near compete with the one I received. But still the love, friendship and support that has come from the tangle crew has been brilliant.

On to knitting. In the last post I said I was doing a hat. I finished it the other day. It just needs to go through the wash so some of the stitches will even out. Here is the finished hat:

While looking for something else to do I found a half finished crochet project I started last year. It’s Jane the Pangolin from Edwards Menagerie. I’d done the Body, head, 2 back legs and 2 ears. This is what it should look like when it’s done:

So yeah I’m working on that.

I’ve made a few cards as well. Here are the ones I made for mum and dads anniversary.

That was the card from me
This one I made for my mum to give to my dad.

It’s their 48th wedding anniversary. That’s one hell of an achievement and something they should be really proud of. Well done to them.

Here are some of the other cards I’ve made:

I started this one but it’s not quite finished yet.

I’ve done another card for mum on Mother’s Day but I’m not sharing it yet.

The other thing is I finished the crystal art project I started the other week.

I sealed it today and now I just need to find somewhere to put it. It looks great.

So there’s been a few things finished this week. I need to decide if I want to do some more card making, get another crystal art project to work on or start another knitting project. Either way I need to find something else to keep me occupied.

Anyway there may well be light at the end of the tunnel but we need to stay safe and follow the rules.

    Love and light

  • Socks, hats, crystals and cards.

So things have been pretty crafty these last 2 weeks.

So start off with knitting, I finished the pair of socks.

They fit but I’m not so sure about the pattern. The heel is a bit boxy rather than fitted but there are millions of sock patterns out there so I’ll just find another pattern and try that. I also started knitting a slouch beanie for myself too. It’s one of the first patterns I ever got. I did a grey version in the last summer of freedom. That was 12 months after I started knitting. So this time I’m making a beige one with cotton yarn.

The one on the left is the original and on the right is the work in progress.

On to another craft I haven’t touched for a while is needle felting. I made two birds from the first needle felting kit I got in September 19.

It’s taken me a while to get round to it but I’ve done them. They could look better and I’m more happy with the robin than the blue tit. I think the robot looks a little cartoon like and the blue tit just looks evil.

On to tangling. There have been a few tangles in the last two weeks:

I’ve also tangled on a card but it’s one I can’t share at the moment.

I’ve also made a few cards. One I made a few weeks ago had to be remade because a certain member of the family decided to destroy it.

That’s what it looked like before
That’s what it looked like after

Yeah Zoe the black furry bin dipper decided to destroy the card because it was left on a table within her reach.

So after the destruction it need to be redone. But looking at it again I decided that sunflowers may not have been the best idea for a sympathy card. As sympathy card are quite difficult to make I wasn’t sure what to actually do. So I turned to a group on Facebook for help and suggestions. It was the I Love Tattered Lace group on Facebook. The people on there came up with lots of lovely suggestions and they gave me loads of examples and ideas. The cards they came up with were absolutely great. I wish I could share them with you but as they are other peoples work it wouldn’t be right. Anyway here is the card I came up with:

From seeing all of the examples the people on the Facebook group came up with it did make me realise I need to do a bit more work with Tattered Lace products.

Onto the other cards I’ve worked on in the last few weeks.

I’m impressed with those cards and all of the ideas/plans for them came from magazines from different brands. The magazines are full of examples, inspiration and ideas. They are also great places to learn new skills, ways of working and how to do things to make your cards look better.

Another craft I’ve spent most of this weekend working on is crystal art. I’ve done a few stickers in the past and the front of a note book but I decided it’s time to work on something bigger. So it arrived yesterday morning and I got started pretty much straight away.

    That’s the box

And this is how far I’ve got with it:

    Just above the black line

I’ve placed each crystal individually one at a time. It’s like painting by numbers but with crystals instead of paint. It is so I want to say mind numbing but that’s not right. It is so mindful and relaxing. It is a great way to escape the world for a while. I started that at about lunchtime on Saturday. I haven’t been working on it flat out but I haven’t really done much else other than a bit of knitting in the evening. So in a couple more days it should be all finished. When it’s done I’ll put up a photo.

What else have I been up to. Well I climbed Mount Everest. At the top the view was not at all what I expected. I thought I’d be able to see for miles but all I could see where lots of white fluffy clouds. As I was so high up it was the top of the clouds so it was sunny at least. It was a bit nippy so I did have to put a jumper on. I was impressed with myself though as I only had to use my puffer a couple of times. There was me thinking I’d almost need it surgically attaching to my face but no. It was a trek an a half but a massive achievement. It’s just a shame that I didn’t get any videos or pictures.

I’ve also been observing an American family of 5. They have a dog and live in New England. I find the things they get up really funny and entertaining. I found it completely by chance whilst looking for something to watch on Disney+. It is binge worth TV and I’d suggest it to anyone that likes that sort of thing. The latest is that it’s just been discovered that the wife of a friend of the family is having an affair with a different family friend.

Church started up again last Tuesday and the service was good. I’ve never seen the medium before but she was alright. But it was great just to see actual human beings in person rather than through a computer screen. The next service is on Tuesday. The name of the medium sounds familiar but with my memory being as good as it is I’m not sure if I’ve seen this one before either.

There have been the usual end of months MS meetings but again through a computer screen. But after the news from the PM the other day there may well be light at the end of the tunnel. So let’s not run before we can walk and all follow the rules in the meantime until they are changed and eased properly.

Oh yeah, the American family are called Griffin and the program is called Family guy. I know some hate it but I just find it funny.

So stay safe, follow the rules and may your days be filled with Love and Light.

  • What’ve I been up to for the last 2 weeks?

Tangling, knitting, card making, tile swapping, shopping trips and website renewing.

So let’s start with the knitting. I finished the first sock and I’ve started on the second. I’ve had to slow down though. My hands are that dry they have started to crack. There is a split at the end of my finger and it’s the one I use to push the needle down. But caking them with hand cream will get them back to normal soon.

    Here is the first sock:

On to park card making. I finished off the card I was making to go with the flowers. It’s for a friend of the family’s 86th birthday. I think it looks good, what about you:

And if you look really carefully some tangling has even made it on to there as well.

I’ve also made 2 other cards. One of them I can’t share just yet. And the other is for a sad reason. Someone close to the family has had a bereavement.

So tangling and tile swapping. A few weeks ago Sandra set up the first Tile swap. She gave us a tangle that we had to include on a tile and the rest was up to us.

When we had done it we had to put it in an envelope and send it in. We had to include a stamped self addressed envelope so we could get someone’s tile back. Sandra put some picture up on Facebook of all the tiles that had been sent in and they looked awesome.

It’s great to see what other people have been doing.

Here is the tile I was sent:

It’s be a lady called Bernadette and I think it’s great. I think this was a great way of bringing people together. And the next swap session is tomorrow. So Sandra will give us another tangle and the rest is up to me. I think I’ll have to get some envelopes and stamps sorted though. I can’t keep stealing them of mum.

There is now a Sanntangle badge:

I got it a couple of weeks ago. Since I got it I’ve been saying I’m a real member of the tangle cult now. That’s just my twisted sense of humour though.

Here are the last few tangles I’ve done:

They’re my most recent tiles and am the feedback I’ve been getting from people on Facebook has been great and it gives me a little boost. And that’s quite important at the moment.

I’ve also been making some great new friends through Facebook as well. And been chatting with them and enjoying the contacts.

Shopping trips with my dad and my sister to BM to get junk food, Haribo, chocolate, crisps and stuff like that. I have to stock up my stash every now and then.

Renewing the website, I’ve done that too. So I’ve renewed it for another 3 years. That means you’ll have to put up with some more of my babbling.

Had an MS social zoom night, that went well and it gave me chance to talk to one of the members about anything and everything. I think we both helped each other and I said I’m alway here if you want to chat. That has been coming in my direction a lot lately. It’s from the new friends I’ve been making though crafting groups.

Anyway, I’m off to eat Haribo, finish watching The Nightmare Before Christmas. I’ve already watched Coco and that’s a nice film.

Enjoy what ever you’re up to, stay safe.

    Love and light.

  • February Already

It’s February already. This year is just flying by and I can’t really say I’ve done much. In fact I feel like I’ve done sod all and I don’t have anything to show for it either.

Over the last week I’ve been climbing mountains, running marathons, cycling from Land’s End to John o’ Groats, swimming the channel and paragliding. Obviously you know I haven’t, I’m not supposed to leave the house. I feel tired and out of breath just typing those things, I couldn’t do them anyway even if I wanted to.

This week pain and dizziness have been my constant companions. They’re there all the time anyway but this week they’ve been worse than normal. Walking around stumbling, almost falling over and looking like I’ve had far to much to drink is getting me down. When I’m stumbling about and falling into things I’m getting really pissed off with myself. I know I can’t help it and there isn’t anything I can do to stop it but it still winds me up and irritates the hell out of me. Sometimes I just wish there was something I could do or a pill I could take that would stop me feeling dizzy and wobbly.sadly there isn’t and that gets me down even more.

Pain has been flaring up a fair bit this week too. That’s annoying when it happens. It just stops me dead in my tracks for a bit until it calms down. If you imagine getting about as best you can then someone sneaking up on you, sticking metal rods down through both your legs, wiring them up to a car battery and whacking all of your limbs repeatedly with a baseball bat. It might give you a basic numbed down idea of what it’s like. I did forgot to say that it’s all happening while you feel like you’re spinning around like a kid playing helicopters without moving.

So yeah that’s been happening. I feel like I’ve been doing a lot of sleeping this last week too. One night I actually managed to have an early night. I went to sleep before midnight. That night I woke up at 2. Was awake for about an hour then fell asleep again. Woke up again at 6 this time falling asleep again at 9 then woke up at 10 to start my meds for the day.

So I’ve wanted to sleep and wake up feeling relaxed and all rested but that’s not happened.

So what else has been happening this week? I’ve made some flowers for a card I’m going to make.

They’re called balloon flowers. I thought it was just some random made up thing but it turns out they are actually real flowers. The veining on the petals was done by hand. I just drew them on after cutting out the petals. I did take some poetic license there but I think it looks cool.

    There’s has been some tangling:

I’ve even done some knitting. It’s just another pair of socks but I’m following a different pattern than I normally use just for a bit of a change. I’ve just finished the heel gusset of the first one and I’m on to the foot section:

I’ve also had a bit of a play with some more embossing folders and this time I’ve also used some gilding wax.

I think it actually looks like a dirty metal sheet with bits welded on here and there. It’s not bad for a sheet of black card.

Other crafty bits I’ve done are a bit more decoupage. This time I went for an owl. It’s an image I got online from the My Craft Studio site. I used the whole thing the cropped of different sections and cut them out and stuck it all together with some foam pads:

This decoupage thing can be quite fun.

Today I’ve done a bit of colouring. I printed off a Digi stamp and got out the pencil crayons and coloured it in:

The image is by a guy called Tom Holland and you can get it and the others on his Etsy shop if you want the digital versions or if you want the physical stamp I think you can get that from crafters companion.

I’ve also done a fair bit of TV watching. I’ve come across some great programs. The first is called Lower Decks. It’s a spin off of Star Trek. But rather than being based around the Bridge and the senior officers like the other series it’s based on some low ranking crew from the lower decks on a starship. It is nothing at all like anything else Star Trek related, it’s comedy based, animated and follows along with what the lower deck crew members get up to. Like skiving, using what they call buffer time. Hiding contraband and generally doing what they aren’t supposed to. It’s funny and well worth a watch.

Other things I’ve been watching is a series called Deadbeat. It’s a comedy series about a medium that is pretty rubbish at everything else and is a deadbeat. Again it’s funny and worth watching.

Last night I started watching a program called Apparitions. It’s about a catholic exorcist. I go through the first episode. That was about a young guy that had leprosy and he was cured the day Mother Teresa died. He wanted to become a priest and had gone through the motions. Other people were claiming that when he was cured it was a miracle from Mother Teresa. Any way time passes and he does the stuff he needs to do to become a priest but he puts it of saying he wasn’t ready. Further into the program it turns out that this guy is gay and is struggling to come to terms with himself. Senior priest and bishops find out and then say he can’t become a priest because of the gay thing. When he was cured it was actually by a Demon so he could be himself. The episode ends with this guy no longer doing the priest thing and walking about in a gay bath house. He’s in a steam room and is called over by another guy and struggling with himself he walks over to this other guy. The other guy he walked over to was a demon who ends up flaying him.

That all happens at the same time that the exorcist is doing his thing exorcising another demon from the father of a young girl that was conceived the night Mother Teresa died. It’s all a bit deep and I’m not sure if I’ll carry on watching it or not.

There has been some sad news today though. Captain Tom has passed away. He was a great person that has done some amazing things. So please spare a thought and send love and light to him and his family.

    Here’s to you Captain Tom!

So I’m off now to watch some more Prime TV programs and eat Haribo.

    Love and Light.

  • Bless me father for I have sinned…..

It has been 2 weeks since my last confession. Well my last post really. I’m neither Catholic or Christian and as far as those religions go I’m going hell anyway. Mainly because of who I am, what I do and the religion I follow.

So much has happened in the last two weeks. There’s a new guy in the whitehouse, I thought I was getting told off on Facebook, there has also been a lot of love and support there too. There have been a few crafty bits, tangles and cards.

So the new guy in the whitehouse Joe Biden. I watched the inauguration and actually thought it was quite moving. The poet lady was really cool and her work was quite moving especially because she talked about the current events and the siege of the Capitol.

Lady Ga Ga smashed her performance of the the American national anthem. J Lo’s performance was also good and Biden’s Speech I thought was really good. Overall I found the whole thing quite moving. The fact that the politics of another country seem to have engrossed the whole world is pretty strange. Normally it’s a cause for no real concern for the rest of the world but this time it’s been different. I think it’s because the job is for the most powerful person on the planet.

Nearly everyone says it was a free and fair election. The main person claiming that it was fraudulent wasn’t able to prove it and all of the legal claims he brought were dismissed one by one. Then there was the siege of the Capitol brought about by all the shit that came out of the mouth of the orange one.

A way it needs to be said that he did succeed with his promise to make America great again. He lost the election then left the job. Now the real work can continue.

But sod that, now there is someone responsible in that position the world can breath a sigh of relief.

The telling off on Facebook. I commented on a friends post saying “ do you not find it a bit strange though that so many people from other countries have been so interested (not the right word but couldn’t figure out the word I wanted) in the polotics of another country”

I read the reply that was given thinking the person was upset with my comment and was sort of telling me off. So I went on saying sorry if I caused any offence. Then I became clear that I wasn’t being told off and that it was just the way my stupid brain and anxiety decide to take what was said. After a discussion I read the comment again and there was nothing that indicated a telling off. So yes, the fucked up brain and the anxiety took over for a little while.

Onto the love and support on Facebook. I’m a member of a couple of different groups on Facebook that deal with different aspects of craft. One is a die cutting group for sizzix and the other is one for Fleurs Flowers.

The Sizzix group is about die cutting and the different things related to Sizzix products. The die cutting machine I got for Christmas is a Sizzix Big Shot Plus. This group is a great place to pick up hints, tips and techniques for using the Sizzix products. I have a couple of embossing folder from Sizzix, one of them is called Lumber and this is what I came up with after using it:

I’m quite impressed and I think that it actually looks like wood. When I posted that picture on the Facebook group the reaction from people was amazing. There were loads of positive comments and loads of people liked the picture so it gave me a bit of a buss that so many people liked it.

Just a bit of an explanation about embossing folders if you don’t know what they are. An embossing folder is basically a plastic folder that has raised and indented patterns on it. So you put some card or paper in the folder and run it through a machine which then puts that pattern on to the card or paper.

There are millions of different embossing folders with different patterns. You can use them to make the background of cards and sometimes the main focus of the card it’s self. Here is one of the cards I’ve made recently that is using one of the embossing folders:

There’s no colour or anything else on that sheet and you can see the crackle pattern quite clearly. They are cool and can have quite the effect. Here’s another card I’ve made recently:

The recent cards have been love based only because Valentine’s Day is coming up in February. No one has asked for them I’ve just done them for something to do.

The Fleurs group on Facebook is also really supportive. If you ask a question about how to do something someone will be back with an answer or suggestion pretty quickly. I’ve only made 2 flower in the last couple of weeks.

For this one I used the die called Frilly Frou Frou. As it’s a fantasy flower there is nothing real that you can base you make on. So I just grabbed some foam and thought I’d make it a bit grungy and go for a dark and mysterious look and that is what I came up with.

The other flower I’ve done is a Plumeria. Someone on the fleurs group asked if anyone had done one. I said I have the die but haven’t done the flower but the strange thing is a picture of the real flower popped up on google and I thought it looked pretty simple. Here is what I came up with:

I’m not really happy with it. I think it looks a bit messy in the middle and the colours aren’t great either. Again it was just some random foam I had lying about. Here is a picture of the real flower:

Getting it together was quite awkward. At first I could not get the petals to go round and overlap in the right way. I tried a few time and could not get it right. So I ended up individually wiring each petal. Then I could get them in the right pattern and just wrapped them together with florist tape.

Other card/paper craft bits I’ve done has been some decoupage. here is the firs:

Just look at the layers in that. I like it and think it looks cool. That one is classed as die cut decoupage because the bits come from a sheet where they’re already partly cut out for you. All you have to do is pop them out of the sheet and stick it all together with foam pads.

    This is the other:

This one doesn’t have that many layers bits it’s a printed image where I’ve cut out the bits by hand.

Tangling has been around as well and here are the tangles I’ve done:

I’ve also done a smallish tangle type frame:

I have no idea what I’ll do with it but hey it’s there and it’s pretty.

So for other crafty bits that I’ve been doing is a bit of crystal art.

It’s like paint by numbers but with small crystals rather than paint. It’s quite relaxing and a nice way to chill out.

But through Facebook I’ve made a few new friends that are really nice and supportive. They’re mainly from the tangling group but one of the ladies actually said to me that if I need to talk just get in touch with her. I thought that was a really nice offer.

The other main thing that’s happened is that I’ve had the first dose of the COVID vaccine. So as far as some people are concerned I’ve been injected with small micro chips so the government can control me. My DNA has been changed and bits of aborted baby foetus’s are floating around in my body now.

There are probably millions of other conspiracy theories out there but any sane person can see that they are utter bull shit. And the vaccines that are now available are the main way that the vulnerable people and most of the rest of the world can get back to some form of normalcy.

SO WHEN YOU GET THE CALL PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE GO FOR THE VACCINATION

Not much else has been happening recently well nothing that’s in my head at the moment.

    Stay safe.

    Love and Light

  • 2021 Post 1

So 10 days in to the new year and so much has already happened.

Just want to say “I told you”.

Last year I said there would be another lockdown this year. Only a couple of days in and another lockdown has started. This one is due to be reviewed in February I think.

The other thing America, what the fuck is going on? A riot in the Capitol building. Yes, I get that some of you are unhappy about the result of the free and fair election. That’s fair enough, everyone is entitled to an opinion. But to believe all the unproven shite that is spewing forth from the orange twatwaffle is unbelievable. The fact that he hasn’t been able to prove anything that he’s claiming should give you a clue. Another one is that nearly every court case has been dismissed.

He is a fucked up umpa lumpa. And that is insulting them.

Anyway that’s enough about him, the crap he’s pulling and the lies he’s spreading. Bye bye fart.

So what else has been going on?

    There has been some tangling:

    Tile 101
    Tile 102

I haven’t done any knitting. But I have done some crochet:

So a few granny squares that I’m going to put together to make a blanket. It’s the blanket I started for mum like a million years ago. It was like the second project that I was going to start. It mainly because I don’t have much else to do. So I’ve been raiding the wool coffin in my room to find different balls of chunky wool. So when it’s done it will have different colours. I’m going to stick with the same patters but the changes in colour will make it look cool.

    I’ve made a card aswell. It’s a little 3 by 3 with a pig on it:

It’s a cute little card. I’ve no idea what it’s for but it’s a simple cute little thing that will come in handy for something.

Anyway here’s to you and all that’s to come this year.

    Love and light

  • Looking back

    Looking back

So this time of year (the end of it) is normally time to look back on everything you’ve done over the past 12 months, talk about what you’ve learnt and about the changes you’re going to make.

Well, I can’t be arsed looking back. As Ragnar Lothbrok said “Don’t waste you time looking back, you’re not going that way”.

Feel free to look back and reread the posts from this last year if you want. No one is stopping you. Here is a link to the first post from this year if you’re desperate to read it:

    First post

By the way there are only 37 posts.

I’m not going to waste my time making resolutions just for them to be broken by the 3rd. Things change, there isn’t much we can do about it. This time last year did you really think you’d be spending so much time at home or that the country would be practically floored by a virus? Neither did I.

    Some awesome news though,

    MUMS HOME

Woooooooo, she’s back. She’s still not right and she still needs lots of rest and recovery but she’s home now and not in hospital. Now she can get lots of hugs and she can be bullied into resting and not overdoing it the way she would if left unchecked.

In Manchester we’re in tier 4. I’m not really sure what it means but I got the emails telling me I’m in the extremely clinically vulnerable group again. Slight change is that mum has joined me in that group so I’m not the only one in the house anymore. I suppose it’s not really a group anyone wants to be in but hey, what can you do?

So last night When mum got home I got to open my last Christmas present. It’s exactly what I wanted. It was a Sizzix big shot plus die cutting machine. It’s so pretty:

I love it. It’s a die cutting machine that will allow me to do a gel of a lot more. The opening is a bit bigger than a4. The little machine I was using only had a small opening. This one is massive in comparison. But the best Christmas present is that mums home and getting better. It might be slow but she’s getting there.

So crafts and stuff that have been going on are flower making and tangling. I showed the pre Christmas tangling in my last post but here are the ones since my last update:

I think both are looking good. Now on to flower making:

    Hibiscus Flowers
    Calla lilies
    Orchid
    Begonias

I made the flowers so they could be taken to hospital for mum. they aren’t allowed real ones in hospitals anymore so I went for the next best thing and made these.

I joined a Facebook group the other day that’s about the flowers. I thought it will be good to see what other people are doing and pick up hints and tips. I uploaded the photos asking for feedback. What I got was not what I was expecting at all.

I haven’t had anything negative. It seems to be a really nice and supportive group of people. There were lots of comments saying wow, well done and that the flowers were lovely. That isn’t what I was expecting. I expected people to say things like you need to use less ink there and do this to shape the petals…..blah blah blah.

The best thing is that someone asked if I did YouTube tutorials for the flowers. Of course I said no and when I told them I’ve so my been working with Fleurs flower since November when I got my first fleurs die I think some people didn’t believe me.

So yeah I’ve been working with the fleurs flowers since November. I have done some bits with flower before but they were sugar craft flowers and a bit different. These flowers are made out of foam and using ink pads, alcohol marks and oil pastels to colour them. A heat tool to shape the petals and make the leaves. And a hot glue gun to stick everything together and burn myself repeatedly. I’m glad I didn’t burn myself with the heat tool though, I think that would definitely lead to another hospital trip.

But anyway it’s the end of this year and the new one is about to start. Somethings will change and some will stay the same the only thing we can do is to keep ourselves and the people close to us safe and enjoy the little things and the time we get to spend with the family..

As mum still has some recovery to do please feel free to send some healing in her direction.

    Stay safe, love and light

  • Christmas

So today has been Christmas Day. It’s been different that’s for sure. I realise that because of what’s going on in the world at the moment it will have been different for a lot of people.

Well it should have been. But I can pretty much guarantee there will have been a lot of people breaking rules. People will be visiting family or friends, meeting up in other peoples houses. There will be some people that have followed the rules and done what they should have so well done them.

It’s pretty much a given that those who’ve broken the rules will be the ones bitching and moaning about another lockdown.

I heard from a friend earlier today from Scotland. He’s got MS aswell but he’s been a great help to me when things haven’t been great. He asked me about the vaccination and if I’d had it. I said no not yet and he said he had his earlier in the week. I said that probably because he lives in the Fridged north and that they do things differently up there.

But yeah he’s had his and I’m just waiting now until I get the call to say when I can get mine.

So back to today. It’s been a quite one. And more quiet than I expected. So for my main meal today I had this:

Chicken nuggets and chips. It all started that when I got up this morning I went into see mum and say Merry Christmas.

That’s when she tells me she was having trouble breathing again. So after checking oxygen levels and dad doing the blood pressure check and a call from Katie. She was bullied by all of us to go to the hospital.

She’s been there since about lunchtime. There was a lot of fannying around before she would go but eventually dad got her in the car and off they went. So she has been admitted for the night. She’s been pumped full of antibiotics and fluids and other bits. It isn’t COVID thank god it’s just another chest infection. She seems to just be picking them up for the fun of it.

She rang earlier to tell us that she was staying in and what had been going on. She sounded a hell of a lot better than she did this morning. As soon as I saw her this morning I expected that she’d be going to a and e. But the hospital is the best place for her. They can do a hell of a lot more than we can here and they have all the tools aswell.

I know she’ll be ok. She’ll be out tomorrow and that’s when we’ll be have a family Christmas meal. It’ll beat the hell put of the chicken nuggets and chips I had today.

So the other day I got some pictures of some of the things I’ve been making.

This is a card I made for Harvey from mum and dad
This is the card I made for him from me
This is the card I made for Dexter
This is the macrame hanging thing I made for Katie
And this is the Christmas card I made for Harvey and Dex from mum and dad.

I made a Birthday card for Katie from all of us:

Other crafty bits I’ve done are a needle felted snowman:

I’m quite impressed with it and I think it looks cool.

I did some Christmas Knitting as well. A pair of socks for mum and a hat for dad.

    Mum’s socks
    Dads hat.

As for other crafts there been some tangling. And my work has been published yet again and shown on tv.

Here are the shots from the book on TV:

Here are some of the other tangles I’ve done:

I did this one leaning on a chopping board in the kitchen because the dining room was being cleaned.

I’ve also been working on some flowers and yet again they’ve been on tv:

    This is the video
And this is the picture of those famous flowers.

There have a been a couple of other card. 1 a sympathy/condolence card and the other as a congratulations card for becoming a grandmother. Bothe in related.( you probably guessed that but I felt it needed to be said).

    This is the condolence card
    This is the congratulations card

On the congratulations card this was also my first attempt at fussy cutting and decoupage. So I other word I mad the bear a bit 3d by cutting out duplicate parts and layering them up with foam pads. Again it’s looking pretty good and I’m happy with it. I’m also happy with the condolence card but I feel I need to work on using the Pearl drops and getting them even and rounder.

Another thing is that Zoe spent the night with me last night. It’s the first time in over 12 months that she’s done that. It was great to have her in my room. The only issue is that I ended up sleeping across my bed rather than the normal up and down position.

She decided to take up the bottom end of my bed and she’s doing it again right now. It was something like this:

She isn’t a tiny puppy anymore. I still love her to bits though.

And with that update I hope you have had as good a Christmas Day as you can and that you’re staying safe.

    Love and light.

  • 2 weeks later

Yep, sorry it’s been two weeks. I kept saying to myself that I need to do a post. I need to do a post. I need to do a post. I kept forgetting, getting sidetracked or just losing the get up and go to write something.

I keep thinking I want to write something all deep and meaningful. I think of a subject and that it will be good to write about, but when I sit down to write a post it’s nowhere to be seen until I’ve hit the publish button.

I’ve no idea why these things never pop into my head when I want or need them too. They just don’t. Maybe my brain gets performance anxiety or something. There are times I just want to whack it to get it working again. I know that won’t help but it’s so frustrating that it doesn’t work the way I want it to.

Talking about brains not working properly. The dizziness and wobbliness it’s getting beyond a joke now. It’s not funny and I feel like if people saw me walking about (the little walking I can do) they would think that I was pissed. The fact I haven’t had a drink for about 12 months doesn’t help either. If I’d been drinking it would at least give me an excuse.

I think the whole MS thing and being in the clinically extremely vulnerable group in the last lockdown is getting me down. It just comes and goes. One moment the mood can be all good and the next it takes a nose dive. I’m glad that it’s no where near as bad as it has been in the past though. Now, it’s more annoyance and frustration rather than depression which is good.

Last weekend it was Harvey’s birthday. He turned 9. I think he had a good time even though he couldn’t have a party like he’s had in the past. The fact he had a good day is all that matters and he did so it’s all good. I made 2 birthday cards for him. One from mum and dad and one from me. Of course I didn’t get a picture of them both but I managed to remember to get a picture of the picture be from me.

I did make a bit of a change after that picture. I got rid of the balloon shape with my message on it. I replaced it with a plain panel. I thought it looked better that way which is why I made the change. And it f course me being me do don’t get a picture of the full finished article. Never mind.

I did get a phone call during the week to say thank you for one of the Christmas card I made. That’s great, it’s always good to hear that someone likes something you’ve done. Sorry no picture of that one. I did make a Christmas card for mum and dad though. And they both appreciated it. Even if I do say so myself I’m pretty chuffed with it:

The card for mum and dad.

Church service started again last week as well. There have only been 2 services so far and the one on Tuesday is going to be the last of the year. It’s been strange going back to church after such a long time off. I thought things were getting back to normal at the end of October with going to church but the night of the first service back the powers that be decided that it was time for lockdown 2.0. So one service back then time for another break.

So just getting back into the swing of things and then it’s time for another break. At least this time though though it be choice rather than by order. And for now there is a plan for when things can start again next year.

The thing is though that because the rules are being relaxed over Christmas I honestly think that the virus will spark up and cause another lockdown. I hope it doesn’t happen but I honestly think it might.

So, stay as safe as you can do.

    Love and light.

  • Happy Birthday Dexter

29 November is Dexter’s Birthday. Dexter is my nephew. It was his 4th Birthday.

    This is Dexter

Dexter was my nephew that didn’t wake up. I’m sure he would have enjoyed his birthday and been spoilt rotten by us all. Happy birthday little man.please just take a moment to think about Dexter and my sister.

    Thanks for that.

What else has been happening this week?

There’s been knitting, card making, tangling and some macrame.

So knitting wise I’ve been working on stuff for Christmas. Some of it done and some more to go. at least I’m not trying to get it all done the week before. Been there, done that and don’t want to deal with the stress. So I’m taking my time and not putting any pressure on myself. I’m not going to confirm or deny anything there as I don’t want to spoil any surprises.

Card making, I’ve been doing Christmas card this week. I’m only doing 3 for mum to send out. Here is a picture of one of them:

And that’s the only picture I’ve got. I’ve done 2 so far and the third is nearly finished. I just have a few more bits to do on it.

I’ll try to remember to take more pictures but I’m sure you know my memory is utter crap.

    Here is this weeks tangle:

I’ve only done one this week as I could only join in with the Facebook Live on Wednesday. Sandra couldn’t do the normal Friday session at 2pm as she was on a Create and Craft Black Friday show at that time. Because of that she did her live at 7pm instead. Unfortunately I couldn’t join in with the session then because the development group zoom session started at the same time. I find that’s more important to spend time helping and healing friends,

The session on Friday was good and everyone did really well. We worked things a bit differently and rather than everyone giving individual messages and information everyone worked on one person at a time. People seem to be really enjoying the sessions and everyone is getting something out of them which makes me really happy. We started off having a conversation about clearing energy and different ways of doing it and why you need to it. We also talked about why energy can go stale or the flow gets stuck in people, places and things. We also did a bit of healing work and talked about the different ways each member of the group does it. But like I said people are enjoying it and getting something out of it so all is good.

On to macrame. So I made a macrame wall hanging for my sister. It was the first proper macrame thing I’ve done. I’ve only had the rope stashed in a cupboard for 14 months I got it from a craft show me and mum went to in September 2019. Of course being the amazing person I am I don’t actually have any photos of the wall hanging so you’ll have to take my word for it.

I have to ask Katie to take a picture of that and the card I made for Dexter so I can put photos of them in the next post.

I have to say though that this being extremely clinically vulnerable thing is pretty boring. All I seem to be doing is craft stuff and watching tv. The other day I could decide what to watch on Netflix so I used the shuffle random play thing and what do you think it came up with?

Ru Paul’s Drag Race season 10. It went on to episode 4 because I started it a while ago but as I could t remember any of it I just started again. Onto episode 7 now. They started off with the Reading mini challenge and then onto the Snatch Game. I forgot how funny Drag Race is. If you haven’t seen it go and have a watch, it’s great.

So anyway in the words of momma Ru “if you can’t love yourself, how in the hell you gonna love somebody else”?

    Amen to that.

    Stay safe, love and light.
