February Already

It’s February already. This year is just flying by and I can’t really say I’ve done much. In fact I feel like I’ve done sod all and I don’t have anything to show for it either.

Over the last week I’ve been climbing mountains, running marathons, cycling from Land’s End to John o’ Groats, swimming the channel and paragliding. Obviously you know I haven’t, I’m not supposed to leave the house. I feel tired and out of breath just typing those things, I couldn’t do them anyway even if I wanted to.

This week pain and dizziness have been my constant companions. They’re there all the time anyway but this week they’ve been worse than normal. Walking around stumbling, almost falling over and looking like I’ve had far to much to drink is getting me down. When I’m stumbling about and falling into things I’m getting really pissed off with myself. I know I can’t help it and there isn’t anything I can do to stop it but it still winds me up and irritates the hell out of me. Sometimes I just wish there was something I could do or a pill I could take that would stop me feeling dizzy and wobbly.sadly there isn’t and that gets me down even more.

Pain has been flaring up a fair bit this week too. That’s annoying when it happens. It just stops me dead in my tracks for a bit until it calms down. If you imagine getting about as best you can then someone sneaking up on you, sticking metal rods down through both your legs, wiring them up to a car battery and whacking all of your limbs repeatedly with a baseball bat. It might give you a basic numbed down idea of what it’s like. I did forgot to say that it’s all happening while you feel like you’re spinning around like a kid playing helicopters without moving.

So yeah that’s been happening. I feel like I’ve been doing a lot of sleeping this last week too. One night I actually managed to have an early night. I went to sleep before midnight. That night I woke up at 2. Was awake for about an hour then fell asleep again. Woke up again at 6 this time falling asleep again at 9 then woke up at 10 to start my meds for the day.

So I’ve wanted to sleep and wake up feeling relaxed and all rested but that’s not happened.

So what else has been happening this week? I’ve made some flowers for a card I’m going to make.

They’re called balloon flowers. I thought it was just some random made up thing but it turns out they are actually real flowers. The veining on the petals was done by hand. I just drew them on after cutting out the petals. I did take some poetic license there but I think it looks cool.

There’s has been some tangling:

I’ve even done some knitting. It’s just another pair of socks but I’m following a different pattern than I normally use just for a bit of a change. I’ve just finished the heel gusset of the first one and I’m on to the foot section:

I’ve also had a bit of a play with some more embossing folders and this time I’ve also used some gilding wax.

I think it actually looks like a dirty metal sheet with bits welded on here and there. It’s not bad for a sheet of black card.

Other crafty bits I’ve done are a bit more decoupage. This time I went for an owl. It’s an image I got online from the My Craft Studio site. I used the whole thing the cropped of different sections and cut them out and stuck it all together with some foam pads:

This decoupage thing can be quite fun.

Today I’ve done a bit of colouring. I printed off a Digi stamp and got out the pencil crayons and coloured it in:

The image is by a guy called Tom Holland and you can get it and the others on his Etsy shop if you want the digital versions or if you want the physical stamp I think you can get that from crafters companion.

I’ve also done a fair bit of TV watching. I’ve come across some great programs. The first is called Lower Decks. It’s a spin off of Star Trek. But rather than being based around the Bridge and the senior officers like the other series it’s based on some low ranking crew from the lower decks on a starship. It is nothing at all like anything else Star Trek related, it’s comedy based, animated and follows along with what the lower deck crew members get up to. Like skiving, using what they call buffer time. Hiding contraband and generally doing what they aren’t supposed to. It’s funny and well worth a watch.

Other things I’ve been watching is a series called Deadbeat. It’s a comedy series about a medium that is pretty rubbish at everything else and is a deadbeat. Again it’s funny and worth watching.

Last night I started watching a program called Apparitions. It’s about a catholic exorcist. I go through the first episode. That was about a young guy that had leprosy and he was cured the day Mother Teresa died. He wanted to become a priest and had gone through the motions. Other people were claiming that when he was cured it was a miracle from Mother Teresa. Any way time passes and he does the stuff he needs to do to become a priest but he puts it of saying he wasn’t ready. Further into the program it turns out that this guy is gay and is struggling to come to terms with himself. Senior priest and bishops find out and then say he can’t become a priest because of the gay thing. When he was cured it was actually by a Demon so he could be himself. The episode ends with this guy no longer doing the priest thing and walking about in a gay bath house. He’s in a steam room and is called over by another guy and struggling with himself he walks over to this other guy. The other guy he walked over to was a demon who ends up flaying him.

That all happens at the same time that the exorcist is doing his thing exorcising another demon from the father of a young girl that was conceived the night Mother Teresa died. It’s all a bit deep and I’m not sure if I’ll carry on watching it or not.

There has been some sad news today though. Captain Tom has passed away. He was a great person that has done some amazing things. So please spare a thought and send love and light to him and his family.

Here’s to you Captain Tom!

So I’m off now to watch some more Prime TV programs and eat Haribo.

Love and Light.
