Blue Hair

Mum and dad have gone away so it’s just me and the dogs at home. For the past 12 months I’ve been getting up earlier than I used to. Before the holiday last year I was getting up about 10 am. But for the past 12 months I’ve been generally getting up between 7 and 8. At the moment my alarm is set for 7. So it’s only been a slight change to my sleeping pattern.

The first morning was the hardest because it wasn’t just my sleeping pattern that changed. I had to change Zoe’s too. So first morning Zoe woke me up at 5. But it just needs a firm No! She still tried getting me up to feed her but she soon got the hint that I wasn’t moving before my alarm went off. Since then she’s tried once or twice but nothing a no hasn’t fixed. Now if she tries and gets a no she just lies down waiting. But then when my alarm goes off she isn’t very quick to get moving. Because her and Tilly are on the bed I’m more or less stuck until they Zoe gets out the way. Tilly fair enough, she can’t get on and off the bed on her own but Zoe doesn’t need any help for that.

Anyway here is a picture of the 2 ladies I’m sharing my bed with

Right now though Zoe is in her favourite place. Sleeping on mums chair.

Now I can share some of the cards I couldn’t show last time but I’ve also made another as well.

I’ve also made a card for a friend of the family that ended up in hospital after a fall. And unfortunately broke her hip. Here’s the card

I still have a couple of thank you cards to make but they shouldn’t be a problem once I have decided to get up and do them, then I’ll have to decide what I’m doing and I don’t do decisions for my self very well. I can make suggestions and decisions for other people no issue but really really struggle doing it for myself.

So last time I made some oven gloves, since then I made a pot holder to go with them:

Sticking with sewing I made a start on one of my holiday projects.

So before I cut into the official fabric for the project I decided to do a mock up of one star to figure out what’s I was doing . I just used some of the fat quarters. So here is the mock up:

I think it looks pretty cool with the marvel fabric. And even better with the fact it’s all hand sewn. So when I’ve finish the official project i might be tempted to go back and make a full marvel version. With the official fabric I haven’t really done much, I’ve finished the centre square and one of the quart square triangles. I’m getting through it slowly.I’m not rushing with it.

The other thing I’m doing at the moment is learning Tunisian Crochet. I’m only learning the basic stitches at moment and doing a couple of rows of each stitch but this what I’ve come up with

It doesn’t look to great but like I said I’m only learning.

On to tangling and tiles:

Also I’ve been involved in an art swap with Mitch from the Sanntangle Creative Team. The only instruction we had was it has to be for pride and include a rainbow. She live in Cornwall in what could well be a fully functional city but I’m not sure if she’s received my artwork yet. So I’m sharing the picture of my piece until I know she has definitely received it.

When you’re given someone’s address (before checking it on Google maps) do you get a picture in your head of the sort of house and location it’s for? Like I said it’s probably a fully functioning city or large town but the picture in my head is that she lives in a little cottage in a tiny village that now has an old abandoned mine. You know I have an odd overactive imagination. But here is the piece I received from Mitch

The first time I looked at the piece I was really moved and felt brilliant that someone had taken the time to come up with a piece of art like that. I’m actually really impressed with myself with the piece I’ve done. Even if I say so myself I thing it’s great. So I’ll share the picture on the next post.

Thursday night at church I did the service again. After the last service I got some feedback from Tracy about some of the things I was doing. After this service Tracy said all of the things she mentioned last time have been worked on and improved. So overall she was impressed and thought I did really well. When I’m working like that I don’t have much involvement. All I do is pass on the information I’m given. It isn’t for me to make sense of it.

Other thing that’s happened is I had my hair done. It was done before mum and dad went away. I’ll just share a couple of picture of the process

So now I have bright blue hair. It looks great ignore the styling in these picture bug here is my with bright blue hair

Also I’d like to introduce you to my niece

That’s about it for now, so I’ll leave it there.

Love and light.

P.S. You knew it was going to happen that Mitch received the work only a few minutes after me hitting the live button but here is the piece I sent to Mitch
