Sorry I’ve not posted, I was going to do it last Sunday but I was dog rough. I had my covid booster on Saturday and then Sunday I was poorly. I felt like I had lost all strength in my core. So it took real effort to stand up and even sit upright. Getting off the bed was hellishly difficult.
As per usual, my alarm went off at 7:30. So woke up and felt a bit woozy. Got off the bed which took some effort and made my way. More like stumbled, part fell, wobbled the closest thing to walking was that one foot after another moved forwards. When I eventually got there, a grand total of about 3 feet from one room to the next. I managed to say I wasn’t well and wouldn’t be going to knitting in the afternoon. Got to the bathroom brushed my teeth, during that I had to sit on the stool, standing and staying upright was too hard. I brushed my teeth and then went back to bed. Slept a bit, watched TV a bit, slept a bit more took my pills then decided I needed a drink and attempted a trip downstairs.
That was pretty scary, not knowing if I’d make it safely to the bottom of if I’d go arse over tit on the way down. Anyway got down stairs and got a drink faffed about a bit did some crafty bits. But generally spent the day feeling shit and sorry for myself.
I’ve said it before but I’ll say it again I’d rather feel shitty for a day or two than end up in an ICU bed. I know some people who have said they’re thinking about not having there boosters when the time comes. I can sort of understand not wanting to feel poorly but missing the booster I think is a bit silly especially as numbers are on the rise again. Anyway if you’re reading this please keep your friends and loved ones safe by having the boost when you’re invited.
Other things that are happening, the heat! The house is starting to feel like I live on the surface of the sun and it’s supposed to be even worse tomorrow. The weather people are predicting that it could hit 40 degrees C. I decided to go with degrees C because I wasn’t sure if I should use Centigrade or Celsius. I tried looking up which one should be use but just ended up more so fused so gave up and decided I should let you pick which you want to use. So tomorrow I can safely say that I am not looking forward to it in the slightest. Stay safe, stay cool and stay hydrated.
Last time I talked about the Sanntangle weekend and showed a picture of my broken mug and my mouse keyhole piece. Well thanks to Sandra and her awesomeness I got a replacement mug and here it is
You can just see the remain of the broken one in the background.
I also re did the mouse keyhole piece:
There is it with some shading and some colour. I’ve done the tiles that have come up of the last few weeks too:
I’ve the last few weeks I’ve also received tile Swap 18. The I got was from a lady called Yvonne Newboult.
It great, so detailed and I’m a little convinced that she may be a Spirograph in disguise. And to top it off there is a gem too. So here is the tile I sent in:
And as per usual there was a letter included:
The next tile swap starts tomorrow. I wonder what tangle Sandra will get us to use this time?
I’ve not just been tangling over the last few weeks there has been some sewing and card making too.sewing wise I’ve made 2 quilted oven gloves:
Here are some of the cards I’ve made:
I can’t share the others because they are birthday cards for people that might see them here so need to keep them hidden.
The other day I was getting my hooves fixed and I saw this sign:
I just found it really funny and thought I have to share it.
I’ve nearly finished the crochet blanket I’ve been working on. I’m on to making the last shapes which are just squares. When they’re all made I’ll have to start putting it all together and weaving in all the ends. That could be a long job or it could be a short one. I’m not sure I’ll have to see how long it takes when I get there.
I received a gift from a friend recently.
I received my own hand fan. With the weather being so warm over the next few days I think it will come in handy. No pun intended.
I’ve also started working on a larger piece of artwork that I’m swapping with a friend. I’m not sharing any picture just in case she sees it but even if I say so myself it’s looking brilliant. I have been getting some help/support from another friend but it’s coming along nicely and I can’t wait to share it when it’s finished. It’s looking good now and it’s nowhere near finished so when it’s completed it should look amazing.
2 new sewing projects arrived yesterday. I’m planning on working on those while mum and dad are away. 1 is a wall hanging. It’s actually a hand sewing project, I saw it and ordered it before I knew it was hand sewn but I’m looking forward to working on it
The other is a lap quilt. That’s done by machine and should be a fun project. the picture doesn’t show the colours I’ve picked but it’s the pattern I’ll be following.
On that note it’s time to retreat to my nice cold air conditioned room and fingers crossed get a good nights sleep.
Sleep well, stay cool, keep hydrated and be kind
Love and light,
