Sorry I’ve been slacking.

I really am slacking with posts at the moment. I don’t know why but when I decide I’m going to do a post something happens so I get distracted or I sit there watching videos on Facebook or YouTube. I think I might need someone to sit me down and do a post. But then if I do that it might end up becoming a chore and I’ll end up hating posting and I don’t want that.

So what’s new in going on for the last few weeks?

The usual things really knitting, tangling, sewing, reading, listening to audio books and card making. From just typing that it doesn’t look like I’ve done much. But let’s start with knitting. Well I call it knitting but that’s only because it’s knitting group. I haven’t actually been knitting, I’ve been working on my crochet blanket.

This picture is part of one of the blocks I’ve got to do. On this one I have a couple more rows/rounds to go before it’s finished. I did mess up though. Because of the colour changes I’ve done I didn’t buy enough yarn. But ClarkeCraft still had some so it wasn’t too bad.

I think I’m at a total on 12 of them now. I have to do 16 of those blocks then some of another and then some squares. Then the fun starts of trying to sew them together.

There have been tangles like normal

The new tile swap started on Monday. The tangle we’ve got to do is connected loops. I started one tile but I didn’t like the way it was going so I put it to one side to start again with a new tile. I picked the new one by pulling 20 tiles out at random and rolling the 20 sided dice. The number that came up was 19 so picked up tile 19.

I decided the tile needed a little bit more so I wanted to ink it then give it a sprinkle of salt.

This is how it came out after it dried and removed the salt

As you can see it looks amazing so of course I got straight on with working on it.

Not quite.

I looked at the one I was unhappy with and tweaked a few things then added some more then carried on with that one and now I like it again. So I finished that one off. I’m not sharing a picture of that because it hasn’t even made it out the house yet and I haven’t done the letter.

It normally where I would share the one I received but I think it got lost in the post so I haven’t got anything to share. Fingers crossed one comes through soon.

While I was deciding what to do for the last tile swap, I started putting some ideas down in my sketch pad and these are some of the ideas I came up with:

I kept thinking about flowers with that swap it just seemed to fit with the idea of bubbles.

The other thing I’ve been doing has been sewing. I decided I wanted to make a toy so I went through the different books I had and found this.

It came from

And here is my elephant

It’s cute and I think I might just have to make another. I do have some fleece though that was left over from the camp blanket I made for Harvey. I’m thinking of making a teddy or something from it. Well that’s the plan, just have to decide when to do and then what colour, dark blue or bright luminous orange. But as it’s fleece it will be very cuddly.

I’ve seen myself a new book/phone stand cushion thing to use when I’m in bed so I don’t have to constantly hold the phone if I’m reading.

Sticking with sewing And moving on to patchwork. I’ve been playing with half square triangles. Here is a picture of the first block I’ve made:

I was impressed with myself so I turn the block into a row:

When I came to measure that row up with the quilt I’m making it was a bit too long. So I needed to make my quilt/patchwork thing wider. So went through loads of ideas. Do I use strips on either side or do I do something else. As I’ve been playing with half square triangles I decided to do some more to go round the sides. This is the smaller row I’ve done:

I haven’t sew everything together yet. I have the big row one of the skinny columns. I’ve done the squares for the other column but haven’t seen them together. It will all come together though. It might take some time but it will come together.

And lastly from a crafty point of view I’ve made a card. It’s for Mason’s younger sister who’s going to be 5. So I went with what I think might be a safe bet for a 5 year old girl. I went pink and with Unicorns.

And with that I think your all pretty much up to date.

Love and light.
