Worry Monster

Over the last couple of weeks, like many others, I’ve been keeping an eye on what’s been happening in Ukraine. It’s shocking and disgusting that things like that can happen. I can’t do much but I’ve been praying, sending love, light healing a bit of Reiki and some Karuna. I really do hope that a resolution can be found and the people responsible for the atrocities are dealt with swiftly and justly.

Suppose the most important thing that happened to me was when I got to meet the president of the SNU. He came to visit the attic project. Something about renewing their lease. When I say meet I really mean standing there while other people had a conversation with him around me. They got the renewal they needed though so it was a successful meeting. I can pretend it was because of me but truthfully I had bugger all to do with it.

I’m not sure if I’ve mentioned it or not but on Tuesdays I volunteer with the attic project. I think I’m a digital buddy or something like that. I’m there to help people with some of the technical things. I’ve been helping a nice older lady learn how to use her iPad. I’ve repeated a couple of subjects with her a few times but she’s enjoying it so that’s all that matters. The Attic Project do some amazing work in the local community. Here’s a link to their website:

Go have a look, like I said they do some awesome things.

I’ve had a couple of meetings for the MS group and that plodding along nicely too. I keep thinking of having a word with the attic project to see if there is anything else they do I can use for the MS group.

Card making:

Tangles and tiles

Something I did find that was very interesting was at the development group the other night we were working with cards. Like tarot, angel and oracle cards. I decided to take in a few tiles and do an experiment. I gave each person in the group a tile and said they heed to use it to give another person information and a bit of a mini message about how things are at the moment and what’s going on. Everyone did brilliantly and all got some information to give. It just confirm something I’ve know for ages and the tiles would make an amazing oracle deck.

I’ve done quite a bit of sewing too over the past couple of weeks. My quilt if that’s what you can call it has grown:

I’m going to add more to it. I’m thinking on adding some 2 x 6 strips onto the edges working from the centre outwards.

I’ve done quite a few cushion covers. I did 2 in the grey fabric and one bright and colourful for church to freshen up the old tired looking cushions that were floating about:

I was thinking of adding some piping to the colourful one then I changed my mind.

The other cushion cover I did was for Katie. She wanted it making out of a T-shirt. I made that one yesterday:

I had to cut the T-shirt in to bits then use some interfacing on the back of the pieces to make the material more substantial. Then I sewed it all together.it looks good and is comfy so it’s all good.

The other thing I’ve made this week is a worry monster. You write down your worries open the zip and feed them to the monster.

I made it from patches of fabric from a Holland and Sherry sample book. I started off by sewing the patches together before cutting out the pattern pieces. There are still loads of patches left they’re a mix of wools, silks and other things. They look brilliant and if you imagine a suit made out of them it wouldn’t be very cheap.

That’s about it. There is probably more but I can’t think of them right now,

Love and light.
